In 2005 Campbell & Morris Associates were appointed by A.B.Hamilton Ltd to provide private housing on the site of the former McGee’s bakery at Murano Street, Glasgow. The first phase of this development, comprising 28 No. one, two and three bedroom flats, was completed in 2006 at a cost of £3 million.

Following an acquisition of the site in 2007 by Queens Cross Housing Association, Campbell and Morris Associates were appointed to progress the second phase of works to provide a further 140 No. social housing flats, including amenity flats, at a contract value of £17 million.

The development offers long-term sustainability due to the varied and mixed housing which meets housing need within a well established community area.

The development, which was completed in 2012, is designed to meet the requirements of Housing for Varying Needs throughout.
