Situated beside the new Laggan Bay Distillery, the Islay Ales Brewery will share common access and prominence. On an island famed for whisky this is the only brewery.
The brewery will use the latest modern brewing equipment, making a range of craft beers from hoppy IPAs to a German-style lager, through Red Rye beer to the breweries own Islay Peated Stout. All aspects of the brewing are carried out on site, from brewing to canning and kegging. The beers are available across Islay in all the bars, hotels, restaurants as well as local shops. The brewery includes its own tap room and visitor centre where people can come to enjoy the beer or sample some of the breweries own award-winning malt blends.
The visitor centre is set facing out to the wonderful views of Laggan Bay and the Oa. The brewing and storage are centred in their own warehouse to the side. The buildings enjoy a prominent position at this location facing the airport.
